Montpellier, France

Montpellier, capital of the Languedoc-Roussillon region, is large and quite lovely. It has all the conveniences of a city and the charm of a small town. There are parks and gardens everywhere. The carousel in this town was not hard to find as it stood right in the center of everything. (Have you ever noticed there is a carousel in every French town, no matter how big or small?  Why is that?) The river is just down the way a bit. Montpellier is primarily known as a university town and as a result, you'll see lots of students everywhere.
