Asia

The first time I traveled to Asia was for a family trip to Taiwan.  I returned in 2007 and 2008 to go to Thailand and various countries in Southeast Asia.  In 2009, I took an ESL teaching position in an elementary school in South Korea, which lasted for one year.  During that year, I made a few side trips to other parts of Asia in my time off.  Asia, in general, is a difficult country to travel because so much of it is still developing.  In China, Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, and South Korea, there is no flushing of toilet paper allowed as their sewer systems often can't handle it.  These countries also still have squat toilets - not fun.  But I tell you what... you can't beat the food in Asia.  Fast, delicious, and cheap!  Mm-mm!  Technology is quite advanced throughout.  There's no shortage of Internet cafes and the ability to talk on your cell phones in the underground subway.  I have one more trip to make to Asia and that is to Vietnam with my mother.  I hope that'll be soon because I loooooove Vietnamese food!
