Aix-en-Provence, France

Aix-en-Provence, or Aix (pronounced "X"), is the capital of the region.  It is absolutely a delightful town and well worth the trip.  Spend at least a day here.  You could visit Cezanne's studio, or venture into the country to St-Victoire, the mountain of which Cezanne painted the most.  Around town, there's lots to marvel over so take your time and enjoy Aix.

The Cathedrale Saint-Sauveur is worth the visit just for the cloister alone.  Notice the detail of the columns.  Each one is exquisitely carved and tells a story.  Absolutely "magnifique!"
